NEW MAP CHANGES!
#1
Well, we are so excited to open the new map this coming Saturday. Less than 48 hours!

We have a lot of new changes coming in this map, our hope is to add more game content, make it even more fun and bring new players into our community. With those goals in mind, the map changes are below:
  • We have added custom enchants. No, I'm not talking OP factions style custom enchants but rather enchants that liven up the game and are new, exciting game content. Enchants have been configured and optimized for non-OP factions and our game style/game difficulty. To access custom enchants, you will use /runes enchanter to purchase a RANDOM enchant. You can pick an enchant that will go on a certain type of item (boots, axe, etc) but cannot select the exact enchant. Enchants will be sold for $8,000-$12,000 per enchant attempt. Beware of the breaking enchants and decide of it's worth the risk ;-) Standard enchants will still be available and obtained as they always have. Custom enchants are a fun, fantastic addition for those who want them but will not impact vanilla enchanting.
  • ChestShop has been added to the server. What does this mean? Well it means player shops are making a comeback...with a twist. Player shops can now be setup anywhere you have claimed land. At your base, claim land and build a shop by a stargate, the possibilities are endless as is the map exploration. /ah still exists however there are limits on it's use to encourage the use of shops.
  • The server is running 1.10.2 (hello Polar Bears) with reverted PVP.
  • The map has been expanded to 3500 by 3500. Lots more room for building and exploring.
  • Chorus fruit can now ONLY be obtained through voting. Each vote will be rewarded with a vote crate and each vote crate has a chance to reward with chorus fruit. The more you vote, the more chorus fruit you can collect.
  • Livemap has been removed this map. What you say? Yessss this is a positive change. It will promote exploration of the map and assist in retaining new players on the server (no more livemap hunting noobs!) Make the most of /f map on, mark down coords and landmarks to bases and you can always resort to the standby invis stalking in spawn.
  • Base security is super important this map. Why you ask? Because chests can now be opened inside claimed land. Yes that's right, we promised an all new map experience and we plan to deliver. So think carefully about how you build and who you let into your base.
  • Strength and Axes have been debuffed for better PVP, KoTH, etc
  • Fishing has been buffed to make it a valuable and worthwhile mcmmo skill
  • The economy has had an overhaul per popular request and you will see many of these changes in the admin shop on opening day.
All these new changes are sure to bring questions. We have setup a tutorial area in spawn to answer the most common questions about these changes and you can feel free to ask staff in game.

This coming map, if you find any bugs or glitches (and we hope you dont) please utilize the appropriate section of the forums for reporting these issues.

We thank you so much for joining in the fun on MineSquads and can't wait to see you next map!

When you say 1.10 but reverted pvp do you mean pvp won't change.

PVP will be like it was last map, pre-1.9 PVP with no hit delay, etc

What has the strength been nerfed to?
Also with you being able to open chests in enemy territory wont people just be able to open the chest shop. And if that doesn't work wont people just be able to store their valuables in the chests shops and just set them to a really high price.

Great questions. No, chest shop permissions will over ride normal and only the owner of the chest should be able to open it.

When you set-up the chest shop, it doesn't work like old plugins you may be used to. When you decide to sell an item, you will hold that item in your hand, issue the command and the plugin will put a 3-D floating model of that item above the chest with a display of quantity and price. Only those items may go in the chest.

Let us know if you have other questions. :-)

Isn't it possible for players to add there valuables and sell them for insanely expensive to keep their items safe? Or will there be a punishment towards that action.

I would hope there would be a punishment for that and in most servers, there is a punishment for that. I hope this server has a punishment for that too.

Just as inappropriate use of shops was punished previously, it will continue to be punished this map.
